Prism Patterns of Nature's Embrace

Project Type

Abstract photography. Hand-embroidery. Outdoor installation.

Date

2024 - 2025

Prism Patterns in Nature’s Embrace invites the spirit and imagination of a wanderer in Fundy National Park to enter a world where geometry, colour, movement, and nature converge. Composed of embroidered paper and informed by intentional camera movement photography, the work transforms fleeting observations of the natural landscape into a vibrant, abstract visual experience.

Through rhythmic lines, geometric forms, and luminous hues, the work explores the intricate patterns that emerge when human perception meets the rhythms of the natural world. The layered forms suggest windows, pathways, and shifting perspectives—encouraging viewers to move beyond literal representation and discover their own meanings within the work.

Rooted in a belief in the restorative relationship between humans and nature, Prism Patterns in Nature’s Embrace reflects on the ways that immersion in the natural environment can awaken curiosity, imagination, and a sense of inner connection. By translating movement and observation into stitched marks and abstract patterns, the work creates a space for slowing down, looking deeply, and wandering inward.

Rather than prescribing a single interpretation, the abstract language of the work leaves room for each viewer to follow their own visual path—allowing colour, pattern, and form to become a personal journey of reflection and discovery.
